The Postcards Collection consists of postcards, picture postcards and greeting cards from the end of the 19th century to the present day. The most common type are postcards that are systematically grouped according to a wide range of themes (e.g.: streets and squares, panoramas, public sculptures, city life, etc.) associated with the city of Zagreb and its surroundings and follows the way of life, development and changes of the city and its surroundings during that period. Although the city is the focus, the collection also contains greeting cards related to various occasions (eg: birthdays, name days, holiday cards - Christmas, New Year, Easter); then postcards related to important events and figures and promotional postcards.
The collection is not limited to the Zagreb provenance, but an extremely large number of domestic and foreign publishers are represented as well (eg: Julius Hühn, Antun Brusina, Edgar Schmidt, Lavoslav Hartman, Stjepan Kugli, etc.).
